I have no problem with this topic, but I think other authors have done it better. The best feedback I can provide on this book is that it is mostly about positive psychology. This book is more of a quick pep talk on the benefits of being mindful and observant. Unfortunately, those are the only two chapters out of 12 that met my expectations, and even those were more of a Cliff's Notes approach to the subject matter. This is exactly what I expected when I bought this book.

I also enjoyed chapter 8's discussion on how to interpret body language. I appreciated chapter 3's examination of the mind palace concept. The book is about positive psychology rather than observation and deduction. I was eager to learn about how to exercise and nurture my mind to make small deductions that follow. I wanted to read about how to observe those fine details that you usually overlook. I am a huge fan of the Sherlock Holmes character and love the idea of intelligence and observation being elevated to super hero ability status. In other words, I was interested in the summary written on the cover of the book.

His research and experiments have shown him that the brain, like other parts of the body, can be shaped, sculpted, and, eventually, trained in such a way as to promote increased mindfulness. Stefan Cain has studied the human brain for years, particularly in regards to its functionality. In this book, author Stefan Cain teaches you how to train your brain to work more effectively in a variety of ways using several different exercises and methods. Like any other skill, mindfulness can be taught, though some will obviously take to it faster than others.

Have you ever wished that you had Sherlock Holmes-like observational skills? Would you like to be able to learn how to concentrate better and be more productive in a shorter amount of time? Many people believe that skills like that of observation and concentration are something that a person is born with, that you either have it or you don’t and that’s it.
